Getting married can be an expensive business. Unless you plan on doing it on a whim in Vegas, there are a lot of costs associated with getting hitched—and usually, they start with the engagement ring. While it may be true that the concept of a flashy, expensive diamond is something that was thought up by a mining company in the 1920s, most brides-to-be still want to feel like their future husband is showing their commitment with a good quality piece of jewelry. No one wants to be told that their value amounts to something that will soon turn their finger green.

This is something that one woman had to deal with when her boyfriend of three years proposed with a ring that turned out to cost a grand total of $38 because he had bought it from Temu. She wasn't happy with this arrangement, and the internet agreed with her. It was especially insulting as her fiancé also earned a six-figure salary.
