Hazel Appleyard ❤ @HazelAppleyard_ Subscribe Imagine earning 200k a year and spending only $38 on your fiancée's engagement ring. FROM TEMU. At that point you just gotta leave cause he's showing you he doesn't even think you're worth an actual ring.

r/AITAH u/znxncb 16h AITAH for telling my fiancé I don't want my Temu engagement ring? This was taken down from the other sub so I figured I'd post here with an update: My (27F) fiancé (29M) proposed to me a few weeks ago. It caught me completely by surprise, but we've been together for 3 years and things have been going great. So I was really excited and said yes! I really liked the ring when I first saw it and my friends and family all think it is stunning. It's an oval cut with "diamonds" acr

Woke Moments @WokeMoments Replying to @HazelAppleyard_ Follow I hate that men are expected to spend a boatload of money on a ring. BUT, a temu ring? come on man go buy a nice gold band with a really nice lab grown diamond and be done with it.

Jim McPherson @mcjamez. 2d Replying to @HazelAppleyard_ The whole point of an engagement ring is that there is real "investment” to not leave. Spending $38 says "I'm not committed". If money is tight for the right reasons (like saving for a house), then fine but she ~MUST~ be part of that decision.

North Hills Observer @asotvitw 2d Replying to @HazelAppleyard_ I make terrible money and my wife has a 0.65ct rock on 14kt and it's not lab made. "Do better" comes to mind.

Kristi & @kristi_from_tx • 2d Replying to @HazelAppleyard_ People shouldn't spend an insane amount but $38 is ridiculous. Not a good sign.

John, why? @JohnWhy325.2d Replying to @HazelAppleyard_ It's equally concerning that this guy apparently thinks there's a chance he got a real diamond for $38 on TEMU.

RudeOnion @RudeOnion - 2d Replying to @HazelAppleyard_ As a woman who isn't even into jewelery and wouldn't want a ring that costs as much as a down payment on a house, doing THIS comes off as deliberately trying to be insulting.

Mitch Marvel @Mitch Sandwiches. 2d Replying to @HazelAppleyard_ 8 The engagement ring should be an analog of your investment in the relationship because if there's no marriage you don't get it back (among other reasons). It's a reflection of his value for her.

Hylozoist @Obliquities 1d ⚫ Replying to @HazelAppleyard_ The most alarming thing here is deep down he clearly felt shame and knew it was wrong or he wouldn't have been secretive and he wouldn't have said “does it matter?" And yet he did it anyway. That speaks more to his character than the ring itself

Ragnar @ragnarbr.2d Replying to @HazelAppleyard_ .: To be fair that is incredibly cheap, and yeah it does sound like she doesn't matter a great deal to him.

LibertysBelle @Libertys_Belle Replying to @Hazel Appleyard_ Follow Ok so Temu rings are ridiculous. They're basically costume jewelry. And they tarnish very quickly. You can get lab grown diamonds for super cheap now. My engagement ring was 10k. (I had a heart attack when I found out) I did love it though. However he could've gotten the same ring for a quarter of the price. It's still a diamond. But yea. $38. Bye bye. And not bc of the ring. But bye bye bc he didn't feel it was worth it to get y

*Amie @staley_amie. 2d Replying to @HazelAppleyard_ He could have afforded to spend money on a nice, but not necessarily expensive engagement ring. I think the best solution is to shop for the engagement ring together. That way they can discuss the budget and find something the woman likes.

ヨ Ellen Ripley @Melza123Ripley • 2d Replying to @HazelAppleyard_ If he earns so much then no you are not the | hole. A man should consider a marriage as an investment. He earns a good wage and so should treat her as such if her really thinks that she is worth it.

Cora Harrington @CoraCHarrington • 1d The only reason he didn't get a ring from the gumball machine is they're too hard to find these days
  • 18
@zeitgeistzeens -1d The most saddening pick me behaviour is women who are like "I wouldn't care!!!! It doesn't matter how much the ring costs!!!" and the ring in question is from TEMU!!!

Yeah Mo! @flwrchldtweets. 1d Getting your girl a $38 engagement ring off Temu when you make $200k a year is insane to me-especially when I consider the fact that I'm skeptical to even buy a SHIRT from that site
